My Hobbies
Music - I've played piano for 11 years, sax for 6, percussion for 2, and guitar for nearly a year but then I gave up.
Sketch Comedy - I film surreal comedy sketches sometimes, post them to Youtube briefly, and then delete them out of self-consciousness.
Writing - I write poetry, short stories, and essays on random topics. It's something to do :P
nerd shit - ok we get it you're a nerd (anyone on Neocities is so DON'T COME AT ME)
...math - I need to do it more but since my dumbass brain doesn't get immediate emotional gratification from it, it's hard to muster up the motivation to learn more abt it
Favorite Musical Artists:
Watsky
Will Wood and the Tapeworms - The Normal Album and ICIMI . I don't even know what his genre is. It's just good.
The Dresden Dolls
Motion City Soundtrack Commit This To Memory. God, what an incredible album. Also My Dinosaur Life
Venetian Snares - Detrimentalist, Songs about my Cats & My So-Called Life
Liz Phair
Twenty One Pilots - specifically Self-titled & Vessel
Sidney Gish
Aesop Rock - The Impossible Kid & Labor Days are his best work IMO.
Boards of Canada
Ruby My Dear - French breakcore artist.
Mitski - Be The Cowboy & Lush
Favorite books:
I don't watch a lot of movies, but this website was originally an assignment for my CIS 201 class, and the professor told me to put my favorite movies, so...
I'd say my #1 movie would be Dead Poets Society .
Mrs. Doubtfire is also a really good one. Robin Williams was one of the greats.
If you're looking for a light one, I'd recommend Ace Ventura, Pet Detective Jim Carrey is awesome in that one.
The Truman Show
Groundhog Day
This is a really odd one, but the aforementioned Will Wood directed a surreal docu/mocku-mentary about his life called The Real Will Wood.
To end on a pretentious note, Amelie .
And to add to that pretention, most Charlie Kaufman films.
Favorite books:
BUCKLE UP IT'S BOUTTA BE A WIIIIILD RIDE
John Green was a childhood staple. A lot of his books are fairly similar in plot, but probably the most polished is The Fault in Our Stars
Ronia, the Robber's Daughter by Astrid Lindgren.
Also, Pippi Longstocking by that same author.
The Martian by Andy Weir was pretty good.
Bee Season by Myla Goldberg.
The Dive from Clausen's Pier by Ann Packer
Flora & Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo. Another childhood staple.
Series: The Last Dragon Chronicles by Chris D' Lacey. Starts off slice-of-life then goes into some freaky time-travel shit.
I don't read horse novels. Never had, never will. That being said, Kathleen Duey's Hoofbeats: Lara and the Gray Mare somehow managed to encapture my brain.
Bubblegum by Adam Levin. Read it when I was 14 and promptly had a mental breakdown. Changed my life. Not for the weak.
The Burn Journals by Brent Runyon. Also not for the weak.
Charlotte's Web. For some reason when I was a kid, I always thought E. B. White was a woman.
Keeper of the Doves by Betsy Byars.
Bell in Campo by Margaret Cavendish. Please read this play. It's so obscure. It was written by a woman in the 1600's. I love it.
The English translation of Document 1 by Francois Blais. It's about these two hopeless Canadian idiots who want to travel in America. It's weird and SUPER funny.
Favorite Foods:
I'm a total sugar fiend, so Lucky Charms.
And chocolate.
When I was 5, I stole sugar snap peas from a neighbor's bush. Peas have never tasted like that since. So, peas, but specifically those peas from when I was 5.
Most hated foods:
Sour cream.
Onion.
"Cool Ranch" flavor Doritos.
Garlic.
10 year plan:
We ball.
Well, just kidding. I really don't know. I'm going to apply to colleges this upcoming fall. Hopefully SOMEONE will take me.
I'm the first in my family to go to college, so let's see how it goes.
My future's all up in the air right now. Hopefully I won't be hit by an asteroid or something.
Wacky Smileys!
